The Serengeti is known for playing host to one of world’s most awe-inspiring wildlife spectacles – the Great Wildebeest Migration. Contrary to popular belief, this mass movement of animals is not an annual event, but rather a constantly occurring phenomenon that rotates in a broadly circular clockwise path, mostly through northern Tanzania and briefly through southern Kenya’s Masai Mara.
Aside from the Great Migration, the Serengeti is home to an incredible density of wildlife. While on safari here, you can expect to see gold-maned lions, cheetahs, leopards, jackals, and rhinos that are protected by the park’s conservation project. Choose from a range of accommodation, from luxury lodges with breathtaking views to cosy tented camps that immerse you in the untamed landscapes.
