Intricate tilework, elaborately carved wooden doors and stunning mosaic patterns on walls showcase the city's rich artistic heritage.
The souks here are arguably the best in Morocco – visitors can explore warrens of aromatic food stalls, busy craft workshops and haggle for all manner of goods and souvenirs. The tanneries are another highlight; watch from raised terraces the ancient process of treating cowhide in large vats of dye, then visit the leather shops to see the beautiful end product.
