Dambulla - Kandy

Drive south to Kandy this morning, visiting the Matale spice gardens en route. Set on the shores of a beautiful manmade lake, Kandy was once the capital of the last Sinhalese kingdom. Visit Sri Lanka’s holiest site, the Temple of the Tooth,said to contain the tooth relic of Buddha. Enjoy a cultural performance this evening and stay overnight in Kandy.

Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

Travel to Nuwara Eliya, visiting a tea plantation en route. Often referred to as ‘Little England’, Nuwara Eliya is a hill country town characterised by its colonial-era bungalows and well-kept gardens.
