Kruger and the Kingdoms

You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Johannesburg. You’ll have the remainder of the day at leisure to explore the city. This evening, there will be a tour briefing at reception and you’ll have the opportunity to meet your fellow travellers. 

Head north to Pretoria this morning, and after a short tour of the capital city, continue to the Mpumalanga Province. Travel via the historic towns of Dullstroom and Lydenburg, then traverse the famed Long Tom Pass. Arrive in the farming town of Hazyview in the late afternoon.

Drive along the spectacular Panorama Route, offering scenic views of the Blyde River Canyon, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the breathtaking vantage point known as God’s Window. Arrive back in Hazyview in the late afternoon. This evening, consider booking an optional Shangaan Cultural Dinner experience.

After an early-morning coffee, take a thrilling open-top game safari in Kruger National Park, in the company of expert ranger, with a pre-packed breakfast. Seek out the Big Five along with prolific birdlife and other game. The safari includes a visit to the Anti-Poaching Dog Unit. Afternoon at leisure to relax or to join another game drive (at own expense).

Travel to eSwatini (Swaziland) and enjoy an interactive cultural experience, including lunch, allowing you to meet some local people and learn about their traditions. Continue to the beautiful Ezulwini Valley, visiting the capital city of Mbabane en route, then have a sumptuous dinner at your hotel.

Continue south through eSwatini (Swaziland) before re-entering South Africa and travelling into Zululand, passing traditional round huts and rolling hills. This afternoon you’ll have the option of joining an afternoon safari in the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve (at own expense), home to a diverse range of big game and known for its conservation of black and white rhinos.

Take a cruise on Lake St Lucia this morning, before departing for Durban. Travel past traditional Zulu Kraals, eucalyptus plantations and sugar cane fields. Arrive in Durban in the early afternoon, where the tour will end.
