Very early in the morning travel to Vat Nong Temple to witness the Tak Bath Ceremony, a traditional Lao rite of alms giving to the monks. Several hundred monks file through silently to collect alms. Morning take a local motorboat up in the Mekong River to visit the sacred Pak Ou Buddha caves, long considered a holy spot for the Lao people. Locals make a pilgrimages to this place to put images of Buddha inside the cave for good luck. Stop at Ben XangKhong, where the weaving of Lao textile still takes place on wooden looms.
